“The Croatian government cannot do much; migrants are present everywhere, so whether the police send them [across the border] or not, they somehow find their way to Slovenia and later to Western countries. I don’t think this will be a key question between the two countries,” he said.

Maksuti added that, with reference to Austria, where the government is enforcing tougher border controls, Slovenia will likely choose a similar modus operandi, because public opinion is genrally hostile to migration – although not hostile enough to enable the right-wing nationalist, Janez Jansa, to form the Slovenian government.”
